"The current XWIKI logo must not appear in proposal" - I disagree, XWiki.org is related to XWiki.com - if I want I should be able to use a variation of current XWIKI logo.

"The new logo must use a new font" - we actually didn't specify which is the font. Again, I should be able to use whatever font I want, as long as it's free.

Design Challenges should be seen as creative processes and should not have this kind of restrictions.

"Design Challenges should be seen as creative processes and should not have this kind of restrictions."

Working with constraint is not against creativity/creative process (It's rather the opposite in my opinion).

Re- new logo and font, for me the rule makes sense since one of the objective is to differentiate XWiki.org identity from XWiki.com.

The common part is the name "xwiki". Apart from this xwiki.org is not more related to xwiki.com that it is to http://www.softec.lu/ for example.

The identity should be completely different so that there are no legal infringements. Which is why BTW that Proposals 14 A, B and C cannot be accepted IMO.

The license national fonts used to be was not Open-Source compatible but they're now in public domain. My bad.

It was a bit confusing trying to upload my proposal, hope i didn't modify something wrong. Regarding my submission: The mix of colors were selected to be user-friendly, as it can be seen, the logo is dedicated to the "XWikiers" (the users/community). The colored dots were inserted to break apart the two "dark" parts. I also inserted the graphic element separately - if it is going to be used in different (stationary/promotional) materials. I may return with a few additional information. Best regards, Alecsandru.

Could you try using this shape instead? It's more compact.

Hi Sorana, I really like your logo, but unfortunately it has a problem: it looks too much like the logo of our big competitor Atlassian (see http://www.atlassian.com/ http://www.atlassian.com/software/jira/ and http://www.atlassian.com/software/confluence/ ). So if you have an idea for a variation that reduces the similarity, that would be great.
